By Pastor Mike Stephens

The nursery is available each Sunday for children under 3 years of age.

We will be observing Communion today. We believe in an open Communion, which means if you are saved, you are welcome to join us. You do not have to be a member of this church.

As was announced in the last Council Report, prayer requests will now run in the bulletin for one week. If you want your request to run more than one week, you will need to make your request known to either Pastor Mike or Greg in writing every week. Today’s bulletin has several prayer requests that have been running for a month or more. If the request is still valid, let us know and it will remain in the bulletin. If we do not hear from you by Friday afternoon every week, the request will be removed. We are also seriously lacking in praises from week to week. Is God working in your life or in the life of someone you know? Let us know. We’d all like to share in the encouragement.

The next Town Hall meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, January 23rd from 6:30 to 8:30 pm.

Do you want to take your Bible study to a deeper level? Do you start reading the Bible and don’t really know what to do next? Come hear some tips about studying your Bible beginning Wednesday, January 17. Find out why it is so important to our everyday Christian walk with the Lord, to a have a better understanding of God’s word for us. Come prepared by bringing your Bible to the class, a notebook and an open mind. This study will be led by Michelle Waddey.

The Lunch Bunch will be meeting at Mom’s located in Beech Grove at Main St and 4th St @ 11 am this Wednesday. Everyone is welcome.

“Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people. Remember that the Lord will give you an inheritance as your reward, and that the Master you are serving is Christ.” Col.3:23-24

Many others in and/or connected to someone in our church are in need of prayer. God knows who they are. Please help us out by giving us their prayer requests and updates, preferably written down or emailed, so we can keep the list up to date.

Please help us keep this list updated.
As members of the family of God, we are all interested in the needs and the praises of everyone.
Thank you!

Reminder: If you have a prayer request you’d like to put in the bulletin, please see Pastor Mike or Greg. We are never sure, just because we hear of a prayer request, that you want it in the bulletin and on our website. Please see us in person with your request so we can be sure.

If you have something you would like added to the bulletin, please talk to Pastor Mike or Greg and give us as much information as possible. If you would like the item to run more than 1 week, please let us know.

Sermon Points: What are you afraid of?

2Ti.1: 3-7 I thank God, whom I serve with a pure conscience, as my forefathers did, as without ceasing I remember you in my prayers night and day, 4 greatly desiring to see you, being mindful of your tears, that I may be filled with joy, 5 when I call to remembrance the genuine faith that is in you, which dwelt first in your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice, and I am persuaded is in you also. 6 Therefore I remind you to stir up the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands. 7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.

Faith replaces fear using three different tools:

Php.4:13 I can do ALL things through Christ who strengthens .me.

3: .

1Pe.5: 8 Be sober (sensible), be vigilant (alert); because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.

Rom.12:2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind (change how you think), that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
